Islami Bank Bangladesh : Gazipur Islami Bank branch catches fire

Gazipur, July 6 (UNB) A fire broke out at the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited's (IBBL's) Mawna Chourasta branch in Shreepur upazila on Sunday, burning down some of its furniture and windowpanes. Fire service officials said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in a room of the branch on the 1st floor of the four-storey building around 2pm and it soon engulfed the entire room.
On information, a firefighting unit from Shreepur rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after half an hour of frantic efforts.
The extent of losses from the fire could not be ascertained.
